Klondike Highway - Yukon River Adventure
The North Klondike highway - Yukon River Adventure

Depending on the option you chose or the reservation availabilities, the camper truck leg is either from Whitehorse to Dawson City or from Dawson City to Whitehorse. In both scenarios, you will travel the Klondike Highway during two days and you will sleep two nights in the camper.

To respect guest intimacy, the sole use of the camper at night is reserved for guests. Your guide will sleep in the cab or in a tent, depending on where you spend the night. During this leg, extreme flexibility is the motto. You and your guide will decide on the pace at which you want to travel, and the frequency and length of stops along the road.

This leg includes the following activities:

Travel in a camper truck on the mythical Dempster Highway and spend a night at the Tombstone campground. You will have the opportunity to go for hikes along the route. Visit the Big Jonathan House in Pelly Crossing: a reproduction of an historical building housing the Selkirk First Nation Heritage Centre.

Stop to observe, from the banks, the famous Five Finger Rapids. Visit the Carmacks First Nation Interpretation Centre. Walk the Carmacks River interpretation trail at the center of the village. Hike one of Carmacks’ trails. These trails go through complex landforms areas that produce interesting mineral finds, such as agates.

Visit the Montague Roadhouse , a rest stop between Whitehorse and Dawson City. Stop in Braeburn to see the smallest airport in the world and not to mention taste the world famous cinnamon buns at Braeburn Lodge.

Stop to discover the salmon rivers, depending on the season. And, above all, take advantage of the liberty offered by the camper truck to explore this scenic route full of spectacular panoramic sceneries, fantastic primitive regions, amazing prehistory and gold rush fever.
